Embracing Change and Letting Go This October 🍂🌸
Hi everyone, Vincent here,
October is a month of transition, no matter where you are. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you’re likely seeing the leaves change colour and fall, reminding us that sometimes we need to let go in order to grow. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, spring is blooming—a season that embodies renewal, fresh starts, and clearing space for new growth.
Wherever you find yourself, this shift in seasons can be a powerful reminder to reflect on what you might need to release to welcome the new.
Embracing Change
This time of year is perfect for evaluating what no longer serves us. Often, we hold onto habits, beliefs, or relationships that we’ve outgrown. Letting go can feel daunting, but it’s essential for making room for something fresh and fulfilling.
• If You’re Experiencing Autumn / Fall: Think of the trees shedding their leaves. What are the “leaves” in your life that you’re ready to release? Consider anything that feels heavy or outdated—thought patterns, commitments, or habits that don’t align with who you’re becoming.
• If You’re Welcoming Spring: As nature is coming back to life, ask yourself what needs to be cleared out to make room for this renewal. Imagine a spring cleaning of the mind and heart. What can you clear away to let new experiences and perspectives take root?
A Quick Exercise: Identify one habit, belief, or item in your life that feels like it’s ready to be released. Write it down, reflect on its purpose, and acknowledge how it has served you. Then, envision the space you’ll create by letting it go.
Letting Go in Practice
Here’s a small action you can take this week to start letting go:
Step 1: Choose something small—a physical item, an old thought pattern, or a routine—that no longer serves you. It could be a piece of clothing you never wear, a digital file you no longer need, or a habit you’re ready to replace.
Step 2: Thank it for its place in your life, and then release it. Donate it, delete it, or recycle it. Notice how it feels to actively let something go, and remember: this is practice for letting go of things that may weigh you down.
Quote of the Week:
“Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.” — Eckhart Tolle
Whether you’re shedding what’s old or making space for what’s new, remember that change—like the seasons—is a natural and essential part of growth.
Have a wonderful week, and enjoy the beauty of the season you’re in. I’ll be back next week to explore more ways we can align with October’s spirit of reflection and renewal. By the way, if you have Instagram, then you might be interested in following me on there Click here to see my Insta .

Vincent
